Rogers Insurance Ltd. announced that its Calgary-based subsidiary Inowest Insurance Brokers Inc. has acquired Sylvan Agencies Ltd, which operates as both Sylvan Agencies in Sylvan Lake, Alberta and Procom Insurance in Red Deer, Alberta.

The purchase of both these brokerages reaffirms the investment Rogers Insurance made to Central Alberta after previously acquiring Mooney Insurance Agency Ltd. five years ago.

Rogers Insurance leaders see this as a tremendous stride for its presence in the region.

“This acquisition positions us as the dominant brokerage in Central Alberta at a time when the size of a firm increasing provides advantages to clients such as access to more insurance companies and technology that improves the customer experience,” Rogers Insurance COO Bruce Rabik said in a statement.

It has also reiterated that Sylvan Agencies leaders will continue to serve at the helm of their organization.

As a result, partners at Sylvan Agencies said in a joint statement, “This transaction with Rogers Insurance was the best option for our employees and clients while allowing us to remain independent.”

Finally, Rogers Insurance conveyed that it will ensure that it continues to serve the best interests of clients and the Central Albertan community.

“We are Alberta-based and committed to local communities in our province,” said Rogers Insurance president Lee Rogers.
