The surprise news of Gore Mutual’s president and CEO Kevin McNeil stepping down this June garnered best wishes from industry professionals throughout the channel.

Making the announcement Tuesday, Heidi Sevcik, currently Vice President of Claims, was tapped to become president and CEO on July 1, serving as Chief Operating Officer and reporting to McNeil, effective February 17.

“Congratulations Kevin and congratulations Heidi,” wrote Patricia Riehl, an agent with Tradition Mutual. “175 years is amazing!!”

This year is also a major milestone for Gore Mutual, as the Cambridge-based company celebrates 175 years.

Dan Sisolak shared Riehl’s good wishes, and praise for Sevcik’s promotion.

“Kevin, I wish you the very best leading into your retirement and beyond! Your personal and professional accomplishments are respected by all!” wrote Sisolak. “Heidi, congratulations!! I'm very happy for you and confident that your leadership and direction will make the Gore Mutual an even better company than it is now!! You have truly earned this opportunity!”

Sevcik herself was honoured to have been selected to take over from McNeil. (continued.)
