Specialty Program Group Canada Inc. (SPGC) is consolidating its MGA operations under a single national brand, SPG Canada.
The move is intended to be a phased rebrand that will unify five of its subsidiaries and marks a significant step toward operational integration and platform scale.
The rebrand will bring together Cansure, Beacon, i3 Underwriting Services, Totten Insurance Group, and Anderson McTague & Associates, aligning their underwriting verticals under the SPG Canada banner.
The initiative aims to simplify market access for brokers, modernize internal operations, and reinforce the group’s position as the country’s largest Delegated Underwriting Authority Enterprise (DUAE), with more than $1 billion in annual premiums underwritten.
Brokers will continue to use the SPGC Portal to quote, bind, and issue policies across a broad range of commercial, personal, and specialty products. Additional offerings are expected to be added this year.
The rebrand is being rolled out in phases and is closely tied to the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Buildersure by Cansure will be the first team to adopt the new branding, operating as SPG Canada Construction. i3 Underwriting will also transition immediately, with other brands expected to follow through late 2025. Quebec and Atlantic operations are scheduled to adopt the new identity in 2026.
“Our goal is to build on the strengths of our legacy brands while creating a unified identity that reflects our scale, ambition, and commitment to excellence,” said Cameron Copeland, president and CEO of SPG Canada. “We’re committed to supporting our broker partners with broader expertise and enhanced service as we grow under a single platform.”
The move reflects a broader shift in the Canadian MGA landscape as firms consolidate platforms to compete more effectively through digital infrastructure, product expansion, and integrated service delivery.
