Sylvie Forget-Swim, CEO and partner at Palladium Insurance Brokers, has been recognized as one of the IBC Elite Women 2025, a prestigious award that honors groundbreaking female leaders in the insurance industry. With over 20 years of experience, Forget-Swim’s journey into insurance has been shaped by her unique path, blending her early exposure to the industry through her father’s brokerage and her teaching background.

“I always knew I could bring my teaching skills into the insurance world, whether by educating brokers or mentoring young professionals," Forget-Swim shared. Her commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders shines through in her role as a mentor and instructor for the RIBO licensing course, where she helps aspiring brokers prepare for their future careers. “I always look for self-awareness, resilience, and a positive mindset,” she explained when asked about the qualities she values in the professionals she guides.

As a leader, Forget-Swim knows that growth requires hard work, adaptability, and a focus on solutions. Her approach to leadership is rooted in positivity: “Every morning, I wake up with a choice to be present and reset for the day. I have to lead with optimism and gratitude, not only for myself but for my team, too,” she said.

In addition to her role in the insurance industry, Forget-Swim is passionate about community involvement and health and wellness. Her active lifestyle, including running marathons, has become a source of strength, fueling both her personal growth and her leadership journey. “Running gives me confidence and helps me feel strong, which is essential when you're navigating an industry that can be male-dominated,” she revealed.

Forget-Swim’s advice for up-and-coming women in the industry is simple yet powerful: “Prioritize your own self-care. It’s not selfish—it's sacred. When you take care of yourself, you’re better able to help others around you.”
