The Million Dollar Round Table has for decades brought together the heavy hitters in the life insurance sector. With members from 76 countries and territories from around the world, it has evolved to be truly representative of the face of life insurance across the globe.

Insurance Business attended the recent general meeting held in Toronto, Ont., and snapped a few photos of those involved – and those who have benefitted from some of the charitable works by the MDRT.

Kicking off the four-day long gathering was MDRT president Michelle L. Hoesly, who urged everyone to ‘pick up those pebbles’ as they go through life.

In the ConneXion Zone delegates could stop by for interactive sessions and presentations. One of the first-time attendees was Greggy Chua from Makati City, Philippines, who did his part by placing a puzzle piece into the ConneXion Zone map.

The MDRT has been actively involved in philanthropic work worldwide, providing grants since 1956.

A recent partnership with Free The Children was forged last year, an international organization based in Canada that focuses on meeting the basic needs of children and saving them from slave-like work environments, by providing education and food. Conference delegates had the chance to see two of the children who have benefitted from the generosity of MDRT members.

At the last year's MDRT Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, Penn., the MDRT Foundation provided Free The Children with $100,000 (US).
