Hub International has acquired boutique insurance brokerage and risk management firm Forum Risques et Assurance.

Forum, based in Montreal, Quebec, was founded by François Jean and Alain Giroux. The firm is known for its creative solutions, a release said, particularly for high-risk industries such as technology, manufacturing and construction.

Jean, Giroux, and their team will join Hub Quebec and will report to vice-chairman and executive vice-president Robert Dunn.

“By joining Hub, we are providing both our clients and colleagues with a strong network and invaluable resources, while maintaining a highly personal approach to advising clients,” Jean commented in a statement.

“Hub has an exceptional construction practice, and we are excited by the opportunity to contribute to the growth of Hub’s capabilities in this specialty sector,” Giroux added.

Also earlier this week, Hub acquired the assets of group benefits firm TRG in Vancouver, BC. Currently, Hub has more than 11,000 employees in offices throughout North America.
