The digital ticket platform in charge of ticket sales for the University of Saskatchewan’s Huskie Athletics has reported suffering a data breach.

In a statement from the university, the platform AudienceView Campus informed the school that the data breach potentially included credit card purchases through the website huskietickets.com. Specifically, purchases made from February 17-21, 2023 have been affected.

Those who made ticket purchases on those dates have been advised to closely monitor their finances.

“If you purchased tickets during that time, please carefully review all credit card charges for unusual or unfamiliar activity,” the University of Saskatchewan said in a release. “It is recommended that you contact your financial service provider about this data breach and follow its instructions.”

The university also indicated in its statement that it is working with AudienceView Campus on the next steps to address the breach. They will also start contacting the individuals affected by the breach.

AudienceView Campus’ data breach comes days after Canadian chain Indigo Books and Music confirmed that the cyberattack incident that recently forced the closure of its website was ransomware in nature. While it reported that no customer data was affected, Indigo suspects that “some” employee data was instead copied by the attackers.
