Global insurance brokerage Hub Insurance Limited announced that it has acquired Gamble & Associates Insurance Limited, although terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

The transaction will incorporate Gamble into Hub Insurance Ontario, which will double its offices and increase staff to 650 employees in the province. This will allow Hub Ontario to build upon a “large footprint” in the region.

Hub foresees many benefits from the acquisition, as Gamble’s expertise in commercial and personal lines aligns closely with Hub Ontario operations. The current president of Gamble, Barry Hogan, will be appointed president of the newly established Hub Gamble division and will join the Hub Ontario Executive Team led by Robert Keilty, president and CEO of Hub Ontario.

“Southwestern Ontario is an important community to the economic development of Ontario and Hub is excited to be making the Sarnia-Lambton area a new home for our organization,” Keilty said in a statement. “Barry and his team have undergone significant growth both organically and through acquisitions and we look forward to helping them continue on that successful journey.”

Gamble, established in 1948, has been a staple in the Southwestern Ontario market for decades. It operates in nine locations, including Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent and London.
