Starting his career in 2002, Chris Sikorski stepped up as the youngest senior vice-president in Renfrew Insurance’s history after garnering a revenue threshold of $1 million. He gradually climbed the leadership ladder within years of joining the company, handling the personal lines division paperwork in Renfrew when he began.

Within three years, he gained valuable experiences from several positions before he was promoted to the commercial lines account executive position in 2005. “In that role, I began building my portfolio with a focus on insurance for the construction industry,” he says. “As part of that, I began training in surety, because I identified that it would be a competitive advantage to manage both the insurance and bonding needs of my constructions clients.”

Sikorski eventually left Renfrew, in 2017 to pursue one of his lifelong aspirations to establish his own insurance brokerage. Shortly after, Magna Insurance was born.

Specialization is the key to success, Sikorski says: “I have never believed that being really good at a couple things is advantageous over being okay at a lot of things,” he explains. “Accordingly, I have focused my career at learning my clients’ businesses and industry inside and out along with the risk management and insurance products that are available to protect them.”
