Tim Harris, the chief financial officer at Direct Line Insurance Group Plc (DLG), is taking a leave of absence effective immediately.

In an update, Direct Line Group said Harris will be away while a family member of his undergoes medical treatment. In the interim, taking over as acting CFO is chief strategy officer and executive committee member Neil Manser.

“He has formerly held the roles within the group of deputy CFO, managing director of NIG, and director of corporate strategy and investor relations,” noted DLG, referring to the acting finance chief.

“Neil also deputised as interim CFO pending Tim’s arrival as CFO, between May and October 2019.”

Meanwhile Harris, who will remain on the insurance group’s board, is slated to return to the chief financial officer post later in the year.
