Building repair network for specialist loss adjuster Woodgate & Clark, Quadrassist has announced it is the first to deliver a loss adjusting service with zero travel transmission in the lead up to the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

The Quadrassist Desktop Adjuster service has been noted to be able to handle low value property claims for insurance providers up to £10,000 in value, and there are plans to extend this service into larger value claims. It promises to help reduce emissions apart from cutting costs and improving efficiencies.

A team of building professionals with expertise in insurance claims operate Quadrassist, a news release said. The team’s experience and background bring to Quadrassist an understanding of building techniques and the associated costs that help generate accurate estimates and scheduling in validating settlement. Photos taken by a customer or a video call with them would suffice for a Quadrassist surveyor to understand the repairs needed. A cash settlement can then be offered or the customer would be given options in relation to the work to be completed by Quadrassist. A cash settlement is typically agreed upon on day one.

“Desktop adjusting is not a new idea but it has been very difficult for insurers or their loss adjuster partners to offer because it needs building expertise first and foremost,” said Martin Cornes, director of Quadrassist. “We have solved that challenge. Each of our surveyors comes from a background in building so that an accurate schedule of works and costs can be created using the system.

Cornes has also praised Quadrassist’s ability to contribute to a net zero future. “We know insurers are looking at ways to cut their carbon emissions by making greater use of technology. This is a great example of how we have innovated to help insurers meet their carbon reduction targets while improving the speed and efficiency of claims,” he said.
