Guy Carpenter (GC), a Marsh McLennan-backed global risk and reinsurance specialist, has appointed Julian Enoizi (pictured) as the new CEO of Europe, effective immediately.

Enoizi (pictured) joined GC in April 2022 as the global leader of public sector solutions practice, which he will continue to lead until a successor is appointed. Before joining GC, he was the CEO of Pool Re from 2013 to 2022. He formerly held senior Europe-based roles at Chubb and AIG Europe before becoming the CEO of CNA Europe and later the president and CEO of Argo International.

New role

In his new role, Enoizi leads the GC broking operations across the company's European operations. He is based in Europe and reports to Laurent Rousseau, newly appointed CEO of GC Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Global Capital Solutions.

“It is a privilege to lead Guy Carpenter's highly talented European broking team. At a time when clients need to navigate an increasingly complex set of market conditions, Guy Carpenter – and the wider Marsh McLennan offering – [is] able to provide them with an unparalleled breadth of capabilities and expertise. I look forward to working with colleagues as we deliver the exceptional client service they have come to expect,” Enoizi said.

GC president and CEO Dean Klisura commented: “Julian is one of the firm's most experienced and recognised senior executives. He will bring to this role a strong focus on delivering the services and solutions that will help clients across Europe address the wide range of issues their organisations face.”

Other appointments

Dorothee Mélis-Moutafis, who has been the interim CEO of GC Europe since April, will take on a new executive role.

Mélis-Moutafis joined GC in 2013 and has held a succession of senior management positions in Europe and the US, most recently as interim CEO of GC Europe and COO of GC North America.

In her new role, Mélis-Moutafis will be responsible for strategic c-suite engagement for current and prospective clients while continuing in her role as a global account executive and remaining in New York. She will remain close to the European business as she supports Enoizi and Rousseau in their transition.

“In an increasingly complex environment, our clients across the globe require strategic advice, innovative solutions, and data and analytics to remain competitive. I look forward to working with colleagues across Guy Carpenter to ensure our clients are best positioned for the road ahead,” Mélis-Moutafis said.

Klisura added: “Dorothée has a proven track record as a client-focused leader and brings a wealth of experience to her new position. Both her and Julian's appointments reflect the deep bench of talent we have across Guy Carpenter.”
