It was only last week when the Inclusive Behaviours Pledge was launched but already 50 signatories from the insurance industry have expressed their support – including the only software house so far, in the form of SchemeServe.

Championed by Zurich and Lloyd’s, the initiative endeavours to promote diverse, inclusive, and tolerant practices across the sector by transforming workplace culture. The aim is to ensure that employees are treated with respect and dignity, and in a manner free from discrimination and objectification.

Among the signatories are the Association of British Insurers, the British Insurance Brokers’ Association, AIG, Aviva, AXA, Beazley, CNA Hardy, Direct Line Group, Gallagher, Hiscox, Manchester Underwriting Management, Marsh, QBE, RSA, Swiss Re, Willis Towers Watson, and XL Group.

“We all have a part to play in calling out unacceptable behaviour in the workplace,” commented SchemeServe chief operating officer John Price. “Anyone at SchemeServe who sees or feels subjected to inappropriate or discriminatory treatment can be assured that telling us in confidence will have the issue taken seriously and acted upon.”

Organisations who wish to sign the pledge can do so at inclusiveinsurancepledge.co.uk/sign-up.
