Arch Insurance International has promoted a cyber underwriter to management level, while Price Forbes has brought in a broking veteran to lead a new multinational real estate and heavy industry practice, in two of the London market's latest senior appointments.
Arch Insurance International has announced the promotion of Sophie Law (pictured) to cyber underwriting manager, effective immediately.
In her new role, Law is responsible for overseeing underwriting activities across the Cyber portfolio, spanning cyber, tech errors and omissions, and media E&O across a broad range of territories and sectors.
Based in London, she reports to James Barrett, head of cyber and healthcare.
The promotion comes as Barrett, who took on the combined Cyber & Healthcare role in April 2025, has previously described the UK cyber market as maturing, with rate reductions slowing and uptake still lagging the US. Munich Re's Cyber Insurance, Risks and Trends 2025 report put Europe's total cyber premium at USD 3.3 billion in 2024, a 21% share of the global market, against North America's 69% share.
Price Forbes has announced that Darren Ting has been appointed to the role of managing director of Real Estate and Heavy Industry – Multinational, effective from June 2027.
Ting will be based in London and report to Chris Rider, CEO of Property. In his new role, Ting will be responsible for leading the development and build-out of Price Forbes' new multinational real estate and heavy industry proposition.
Rider said: "Darren's breadth of experience across some of the market's most demanding sectors, combined with a proven ability to grow high-performing teams, makes him an outstanding addition to Price Forbes. We're delighted to be welcoming him next year."
Price Forbes, founded in London in 1893, is part of Ardonagh Specialty, the specialty broking arm of the Ardonagh Group, and describes itself as one of the largest property divisions in the London market, supporting complex risks ranging from nationwide real estate portfolios to hard-to-place industrial assets. Ting's appointment follows a period of reorganisation across Ardonagh Specialty, which consolidated several of its wholesale broking brands into Price Forbes and Bishopsgate.
