Jackson Lee Underwriting (JLU) has announced the appointment of insurance industry veteran Geoff Chapman (pictured) as non-executive director.

Prior to joining JLU, Chapman was class underwriter accident and health for DTW 1991 at Lloyd’s. Before that, he was chief underwriter for personal accident and travel insurance for Tokio Marine.

Chapman comes abroad JLU as the firm continues the build-up of its A&H portfolio. Among the underwriter’s prominent products are the BIBA holiday travel and sports travel schemes and group personal accident offering.

“Geoff has had an enviable and successful career specialising in the accident and health and travel market,” said Nick Mohan, joint managing director at JLU. “His deep knowledge of this evolving market and particularly in the Lloyd’s and London market, is essential for our business strategy as we work to deliver further innovative solutions to our insurance broker partners.”

Chapman said he was delighted to be joining a firm with a “solid and enduring reputation” in the industry.

“The company’s ethos, professionalism, and commitment to delivering innovative solutions to their insurance broker partners has seen it flourish,” he said. “I look forward to helping the business grow its A&H specialism in particular and playing a part in supporting the management team in the MGA’s ongoing success.”
