Ali Crossley (pictured), managing director for Junction at digital insurance distributor BGL Group, is making the switch to Legal & General on March 04 to serve as partnerships MD at the latter’s insurance unit (LGI).

Junction is BGL’s affinity insurance provider where Crossley’s remit included the strategy and value creation of 14 affinity partner brands. She has also spent time at the likes of Barclays, Prudential, and Saga.

“I am thrilled to be joining Legal & General at this exciting time of unprecedented opportunity in the life and mortgage markets,” commented Crossley. “We have new entrants and established players thinking very hard about how to optimise customer experience right across the value chain.

“Legal & General is the leader in its fields for good reason and has a great reputation for delivering longstanding, mutually beneficial partnerships. I am honoured to be joining such an impressive, dedicated, and collaborative team.”

LGI, which is separate from the FTSE 100 firm’s general insurance business, provides life insurance products to about five million customers in the UK and more than one million in the US. Its British group protection business also covers around two million employees.

Crossley will succeed Mark Holweger, who moved to the US arm of the insurance division and was appointed chief executive of Legal & General Insurance America (LGIA) in September 2018.

“I’m delighted that Ali has agreed to join Legal & General, as our new managing director for partnerships,” said LGI CEO Bernie Hickman. “Ali brings a wealth of experience and expertise in developing commercial partnerships which will further enhance and help position Legal & General as the number one partner of choice.”
