Markel UK has announced the completion of its acquisition of the online freelancer and contractor business of commercial insurance broker Caunce O’Hara.
Insurance Business first revealed Markel’s plan to acquire Caunce O’Hara’s online business back in September.

“We have shared values with Markel and recognise them as a great company to take forward the online business that we have built,” Chris Caunce, co-founder and director of Caunce O’Hara, said at the time. “They know the market very well and have excellent tax and legal capabilities, which will enhance and deliver a compelling proposition for the customer.”
Markel confirmed that Caunce O’Hara continue to keep its brand and that its team of 12 will remain in its existing office in Manchester.
