The insurance consultancy arm of RPC has made a major double swoop after announcing the arrival of two leading names who both previously worked at Willis Towers Watson.

John Rowland and Sam Worthington have both moved to RPC Consulting, which was launched in 2015.

Rowland brings more than 20 years’ experience in software, capital issues and consulting for life insurers and will head RPC Consulting’s Life Insurance capability with a focus on software for life insurers. In his previous role, he was global leader for life insurance capital modelling, responsible for developing consulting propositions and software solutions to measure and manage risk and capital covering regulatory uses such as Solvency II and internal uses such as in an Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA).

“RPC Consulting is made up of highly respected industry figures and there is a real entrepreneurial spirit to the team,” he said about the move. “I am also really excited by the firm’s proprietary software product Tyche whose capabilities, especially speed, are a disruptive force that will be a game changer for life insurers. There is also a clear strategy for growth and a commitment to client service.”

Sam Worthington meanwhile has 13 years of experience of developing consulting and software solutions in financial modelling, pricing and risk analytics for the insurance, pension and asset management communities. In his previous role, Sam was the global head of economic scenario generation and asset modelling.

“John and Sam are both highly respected professionals who bring a wealth of experience to RPC Consulting,” said RPC Consulting managing partner Rory O’Brien. “Their appointments bolster the consulting business and provide us with increased knowledge of actuarial software and asset modelling to better enhance our offering to our clients. The addition of John and Sam is a huge boost for us."
