Sedgwick has introduced a new learning and development service for insurance and corporate clients in the UK, expanding its range of workforce-focused offerings.

The new service, known as Talent Solutions, is part of Sedgwick’s Third-Party Administration (TPA) division and provides training for front-line employees, leadership teams and technical staff. Delivery methods include in-person facilitation, virtual classrooms, e-learning and blended formats.

The service is led by Carolyn Blunt (pictured above), who has worked in learning and development across the insurance and contact centre sectors for over two decades. Her experience includes designing training frameworks and supporting skills development aligned with operational needs.

Sedgwick stated that the service is intended to complement its existing resource solutions, which cover recruitment, secondments and onboarding. The combined offering is positioned to support clients in managing workforce performance and capability through integrated people strategies.

The launch reflects broader trends in the UK corporate training market, where demand has grown for tailored, skills-based development. In the insurance sector, in particular, the pace of technological change, driven by automation, AI adoption and data transformation, has led firms to invest more in upskilling and reskilling initiatives. Regulatory developments, evolving customer expectations and hybrid working models have also prompted organisations to reassess how training is delivered and measured.

Industry research suggests that insurers are increasingly seeking L&D solutions that focus on agility, compliance, customer interaction and digital capability. According to recent surveys, operational leaders are placing greater emphasis on building internal talent pipelines and reducing dependency on external recruitment amid ongoing labour market pressures.

Neil Gibson, UK CEO at Sedgwick, said the new service responds to client needs around talent development, retention and performance. He added that Carolyn Blunt’s experience would support the expansion of Sedgwick’s training capabilities in line with changing workforce requirements.

Blunt said the service is aimed at delivering skills-focused development that reflects current operational demands. She said Talent Solutions is intended to align with Sedgwick’s broader service model and provide structured support for capability building within client organisations.
