The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has announced the recipients of the 2025 LMA Claims Awards, presented at an event held at Plaisterers’ Hall.

MS Amlin was named winner in the Claims in Action category, while Brit received the Claims Innovation award.

In the Rising Star categories, James Duffus of Liberty Specialty Markets was recognised for Adjusting, and Genevieve Pinson of Munich Re for Operations. Katie Murphy of W/R/B Underwriting was named Future Leader. The Significant Contribution award went to Steve Flood of Beazley.

The winners were selected by a judging panel including Matt Bunting of Lloyd’s, Gabrielle Folliard of AXIS Capital, Barbara Rizzi of Arch Insurance, and Stephen Roberts of RiverStone International. The panel reviewed over 80 nominations across six categories, considering service delivery, leadership and innovation within the market.

In addition to the standard categories, two special awards were presented. The Enduring Impact award, introduced by LMA CEO Sheila Cameron, recognised Charlotte Warr for her work in training and education.

The LMACC Chair Award, introduced by Chris O’Shea of Markel and Rebecca Hartley of Hiscox, acknowledged the cross-market efforts of the LMA NexGen Claims Group in developing claims talent.

Janine Powell, claims director at the LMA, said the awards are a celebration of the achievements within the Lloyd’s claims community.

“These awards highlight the innovation, dedication and skill that exists across our claims community, and reinforce the vital role that claims plays in the success of the Lloyd’s market. Congratulations to all those recognised this evening,” Powell said.

The LMA claims awards scheme was announced in March as part of the association’s broader strategy to strengthen the talent pipeline in claims. The awards seek to promote claims as an attractive and dynamic career path.

Elsewhere, the LMA also announced the results of the recent election for the Joint Power Generation Committee (JPGC) with the International Underwriting Association (IUA).
