Jensten Group has expanded its wholesale division’s liability and construction operation with two key hires. Paul Snashall (pictured above) was named liability and construction placing broker at Senior Wright, while Stuart Daffin has joined City Underwriters as senior construction underwriter.

In his new role, Snashall will grow Senior Wright’s existing book of high-end construction clients. He has over 40 years’ insurance experience in the Lloyd’s and London markets and joined from MS Amlin, where he was senior casualty underwriter. Prior to that, he was regional director of London market risks casualty at JLT.

Daffin (pictured above) will head development of City Underwriters’ construction underwriting proposition for the SME and middle markets, incorporating single project, CAR, and annual policies. He has over 10 years of construction underwriting experience and was most recently construction and casualty underwriter at Thames Underwriting. He previously held roles at HSB Engineering, AXA Insurance and Allianz.

“The recruitment of these very experienced construction and liability specialists underlines our ambition to provide a full product offering to this burgeoning sector, catering for multinationals through to individual tradespeople,” said Simon Taylor, managing director of Jensten Wholesale. “Both will work closely with underwriters and capacity specialists to offer quality solutions. The UK construction sector is worth £120 billion to the UK economy and employs 2.4 million people, of which 36% are self-employed. The addition of our new SME offering complements the high-end, higher-risk policies placed by Senior Wright and the capita e-trade solution from our wholesale and e-trading specialist Policyfast, enabling us to provide brokers with a one-stop shop for all their construction and contractors’ insurance needs.”
