Now here’s a story of working one’s way up.

Hilde Søbstad Løvskar, who started out as an intern at Skuld about a decade ago, is now the marine insurer’s chief legal officer. Prior to her appointment, the former maritime trainee served as Skuld’s corporate legal counsel and company secretary from 2012.

“I am proud to be given the opportunity to lead Skuld’s corporate legal team,” commented Løvskar. “In my previous roles in Skuld I have been close to Skuld’s operations, and I look forward to continue contributing in providing the competence and service that our members and clients rely on.”

In her new capacity, Løvskar becomes part of the Oslo-headquartered firm’s executive management team.

Commenting on the promotion, Skuld president and chief executive Ståle Hansen said: “I am very pleased to announce the new chief legal officer position, and under Hilde’s leadership our corporate legal department will continue to build on their excellent legal services to support Skuld’s strategy of innovation, diversification, and sustainable growth.

With a worldwide office network and its workforce of around 270 people, the group provides bespoke covers through Skuld P&I, Skuld Marine Agency, and Lloyd’s syndicate Skuld 1897.
