Today marks a major milestone for the independent broker Clear Group which has welcomed its 35th acquisition since it was established in 2001 and its first completed deal since it welcomed new investment from Goldman Sachs last month as part of a refinancing plan.

Clear has snapped up GSI Commercial Services in a deal that will see the acquired firm’s team – including partners David Bramley-Harker and Terry Charlesworth – work alongside colleagues across the group to drive business growth and opportunities. GSI’s team of nine, which is currently based in Rochester, Kent, will move to the Clear offices located in Maidstone from early 2023.

In a Press release, Clear revealed that GSI, which was established in 1995, is an independent insurance broker which focuses on several areas of insurance including motor fleet, commercial combined, commercial liability and property protection. The acquired business handles in excess of £5.5 million GWP.

Commenting on the deal, Mike Edgeley, group CEO of Clear, noted that GSI is another great fit for the group which will bolster its presence across the South East. He noted that GSI’s partners and team will help enhance and evolve Clear’s capabilities and “help us deliver on our ambitious plans.”

David Bramley-Harker of GSI Commercial Services added: “We feel very confident about the future of our business now that we have joined forces with the Clear Group. Clear’s distinctive culture, along with an exciting growth plan, ensures that our staff and clients will be in safe hands moving forward.”
