AGL outlines coronavirus transition plan

Non-Profits & Charities

Whisper it quietly, but maybe, just maybe, we’re getting over the peak of the coronavirus outbreak and we can start to look forward to what happens next.

Accident management solutions provider AGL is among those starting to think ahead – and that includes a significant charity push.

With most charities heavily hit by the outbreak, AGL is aiming to raise a six-figure sum for charities with the Gumball Charity Revival.

It is calling on the corporate fleet and insurance worlds to come together to raise thousands at the event which focuses on the NHS Charities Together, Brake the road safety charity, and the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.

“It is early days yet, but we feel it is important to have something to work towards that will bring us together in raising much needed funds for three amazing charities,” said chairman Mark Wilcox (pictured).

“Previous Gumball events have raised six figures for charity, and we’d like to exceed that this time, offering a great opportunity to celebrate the industry and its focus on philanthropy. We’re announcing our intention to hold this event to provide a beacon in difficult times and offer us all something to work towards and look forward to supporting.”

The event is scheduled to take place in April 2021, with participants invited to express their interest in the coming weeks. It sees around 50 cars taking part in a three-day driving event through Ireland with the challenge being to come up with a creative car design that uses the colours of the Irish flag.

“The focus of the event is on fun not speed and our goal is to raise as much money and awareness as possible for our charity partners,” added Wilcox.
