Commercial property insurer FM has appointed Nicholas McClure (pictured) as operations senior vice-president and chief executive for its London operations. The role covers the UK, Ireland, Nordics, Middle East, and Africa.
McClure succeeds Bill Bradshaw, who retired earlier in 2026. He will report to Loïc Le Dréau, senior vice-president and EMEA division manager, who took up his own role in December 2025.
Le Dréau said McClure’s background across underwriting, client service, and operations made him well suited to lead the London post.
“With his long track record of success across underwriting, client service and operations at FM, Nick brings extensive experience to serve our clients in this important region,” Le Dréau said.
McClure joined FM in 2008 as an account underwriter for FM Affiliated, the firm’s global middle market division, based in Chicago. He has since held a series of roles across the US. These positions included client service manager in Seattle, regional sales manager in Chicago, and business development executive in Cleveland.
He was most recently operations senior vice-president and St. Louis operations manager. In that role, he oversaw underwriting and insurance processing across FM’s St. Louis and Minneapolis offices. His middle market and client service background in the US maps directly to the client-facing work FM handles across EMEA.
McClure holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
The London role sits within a region FM has been actively expanding. In January 2026, FM raised its data centre insurance capacity to US$5 billion through its FM Intellium unit.
The unit targets risks tied to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and power generation. FM currently insures approximately 1,100 data centres worldwide. Their combined insurable value stands at US$250 billion.
The EMEA region is central to that growth. Data centre development across the UK, Nordics, and Middle East has accelerated in recent years. Demand for cloud infrastructure and AI processing capacity is driving that expansion.
The McClure appointment continues a period of senior leadership change at FM. In December 2025, the firm named Johnell Holly as executive vice-president of US and Latin America operations. James O’Brien was appointed to a new role overseeing FM Intellium and specialty operations that same month.
These moves, alongside Le Dréau’s appointment as EMEA division manager, point to a structured reshaping of FM’s global operational leadership. FM employs more than 5,500 people and maintains operations in over 100 countries.
