Ecclesiastical Insurance has introduced a new digital portal aimed at enhancing brokers’ ability to manage their schemes.

Developed internally by Ecclesiastical, the Schemes+ platform addresses the persistent reliance on manual processes among brokers when onboarding new schemes clients. The tool allows brokers to directly input details into the system to generate quotes, streamlining the process and boosting customer service.

The system also facilitates instant comparison of different limits and provides swift access to policy information. Additionally, Schemes+ features automated alerts that identify areas lacking data or requiring underwriter referral, with the referral process fully integrated into the platform.

At the same time, the portal automatically produces the monthly bordereau needed by Ecclesiastical.

During the platform’s development, Ecclesiastical successfully piloted the technology with Suffolk-based insurance broker Pound Gates.

Chris Withers (pictured), schemes and partnerships director at Ecclesiastical, commented: “I’m really pleased to launch our new Schemes+ offer to brokers and to help them and their customers grow their schemes business. We’ve worked closely with brokers such as Pound Gates to shape the portal to meet their needs and believe it will really make a difference.

“This is a really exciting time for us at Ecclesiastical. We’ve made some fantastic steps towards growing our schemes book and have ambitious plans to do even more going forward. We believe there is a great opportunity for us to achieve those ambitions by working closely with brokers to help them solve some of their current challenges, and this new digital platform can go a long way to achieving that.”

Pound Gates director Del Sharman, meanwhile, had this to say: “It’s been fantastic working on the pilot for Schemes+ with Ecclesiastical. By getting us involved, it shows us they’re serious about supporting schemes brokers to achieve their goals.

“The Schemes+ tool has definite potential to help us make efficiencies, potentially allowing up to a third of renewals to go through an automated renewal process. This could free up members of our team to focus their efforts on other areas, such as growing the business and supporting customers.”
