Managing general agent Pattern Insurance and travel technology provider Amadeus have expanded their existing relationship for a tie-up offering aimed at travel agents in the UK.

Via the Amadeus selling platform, the new partnership will allow travel agents to introduce proposals from Pattern and trigger a coverage opt-in process while booking trips. The goal is to provide a seamless, fully integrated proposition.

“For a long time, selling insurance as a brick and mortar or a phone-based travel agency was very hard,” said Pattern co-founder and president Noam Shapira (pictured above).

“Now, thanks to the Amadeus platform, travel agents can more easily introduce insurance to their customers. This is done in alignment with the very strong regulatory demands in the UK. The products that are provided to customers are hassle-free and some of the best in the market.”

Amadeus’ Peter Altmann (pictured immediately above), meanwhile, said it’s about putting choice in the travellers’ hands.

“Building on our partnership with Pattern since 2020, I am very pleased to offer this unique solution for travel agents in the UK,” commented the vice president of mobility and travel protection, hospitality.

“Putting choice in the hands of travellers to purchase the Pattern insurance services they want most is an important step in offering better end-to-end service.”

An insurtech MGA, Pattern partners with online travel, recreation, and events companies to offer insurance as part of the customer journey. Pattern is a parametric insurance provider.
