The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. (AEU) is the administrator of the American Longshore Mutual Association Ltd. (ALMA), a group self-insurance fund that is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide USL&H coverage for the liabilities of its members under the United States Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. As ALMA’s program administrator, AEU provides underwriting, claims and loss control services, as well as value-added services that support these areas, to the waterfront employers who are members of ALMA.
