Acrisure announced the appointment of Adam C. Reed to general counsel following the anticipated retirement of John P. Iacono later this year.

Reed’s appointment took effect January 1, according to a company statement.

The industry veteran has more than 20 years’ insurance experience under his belt. Prior to his appointment, Reed was general counsel of American Insurance Group’s personal insurance business. His duties in this post covered legal responsibility for multi-billion dollar operations in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

He cut his teeth as an associate in Winston and Strawn’s corporate practice.

Reed is a cum laude degree holder in Philosophy and Law and Society from Binghamton University. He pursued his law degree in Fordham University School of Law’s evening division.

“We welcome Adam’s experience and leadership to Acrisure and look forward to growing our organization with him as our general counsel,” Acrisure president and chief executive Gregory L. Williams said in the statement.

Reed will report to Williams and serve on the company’s executive committee.
