Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), Allianz Group’s specialist corporate insurer, has announced the appointment of Wanda Phillips as its new North America regional head of entertainment, effective January 01. Phillips will be based in New York and will report to Henning Haagen, Northeast Zone executive and NA regional head of specialty lines. Phillips replaces Sue McGuirl, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.

In her new role, Phillips will be responsible for leading North American underwriting teams in support of the entertainment unit’s global product strategies. She joined AGCS in 2016 as a senior underwriting team leader, and was responsible for establishing and overseeing the New York underwriting group. Phillips has more than 25 years of industry experience, including stints with Entertainment Brokers International, AON, Chubb and OneBeacon Entertainment. She has expertise in entertainment sectors including television, film, advertising wrap-ups and contingency insurance.

“I’m pleased that Wanda will take over the leadership of our North America entertainment portfolio and trust that under her leadership the business will be further strengthened and developed,” Haagen said. “Wanda has the full support of our organization and will be a most welcome addition to our leadership team within North American Specialty Lines.”

“This is an exciting time for us within the entertainment division as we continue a journey to evolve and expand our NA business,” said Lauren Bailey, AGCS global head of entertainment. “Today we are recognized as the benchmark in our industry, and I have no doubt that will only be made stronger through Wanda’s leadership.”
