Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has announced the appointment of Anthony “Sandy” Codding Jr. as regional head of strategy and portfolio steering for North America on the AGCS Financial Lines team. Codding will be based in Boston and report to Joe Caruso, North America regional head of financial lines.

Codding succeeds Katie Fioretti, who was named global head of management liability commercial, CUOC financial lines. In his new role, Codding will implement portfolio management practices across financial lines products to identify areas for growth, develop performance and portfolio analyses on products, and advise on how to optimize portfolio mix and profitability.

“Sandy is a most welcome addition to the AGCS North America team, as he brings proven skills and a deep experience in profitably building a business and executing business steering, strategies and budgets,” Caruso said. “He is quite adept at designing underwriting methodologies, developing products and optimizing client service.”

Codding joins AGCS from Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, where he most recently served as senior vice president and global head of the company’s Bespoke Cyber & Technology Underwriting unit. He has also held management positions at Marsh USA, Quanta US Holdings, CNA and AIG.
