Alliant Insurance Services has bolstered its team with the addition of two seasoned professionals, Matt Cohan and Frank Ross, to its employee benefits group and Alliant Americas division, respectively.

Cohan, based in Kansas City, steps into the role of vice president within Alliant’s employee benefits group. With over two decades of experience in the field, his career has seen him collaborate with employers from various sectors, including nonprofit, government, healthcare, construction, and hospitality.

Before his move to Alliant, Cohan held the position of vice president and director of employee benefits at an integrated financial services company, leading the benefits practice in its Kansas City office. He also brings experience from his time with one of the nation’s largest insurance carriers.

At Alliant, his focus will be on developing complex, self-funded programs tailored to meet the needs of mid-market and national clients.

“Matt has extensive experience designing and delivering innovative benefits solutions that add significant value and strength to his clients’ organizations. His broad industry reach and service-driven approach consistently yields quantifiable, long-term results,” Alliant Employee Benefits president Kevin Orbey said.

Addition for the Alliant Americas division

Simultaneously, Alliant has welcomed Frank Ross as vice president within its Alliant Americas division, further strengthening its San Francisco Bay Area brokerage team.

Ross has a background in property and casualty insurance, including specialties in risk management, cyber liability, and executive liability. He has a history of serving a diverse clientele, from startups to large, publicly traded companies, providing tailored insurance and consulting services.

Ross’s prior roles include being senior vice president at a national insurance brokerage and consulting firm and positions in corporate risk management. He is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento, and Golden Gate University, where he earned his MBA with a concentration in finance and risk management. Ross also holds the associate in risk management (ARM) designation.

“Frank’s broad skill set and deep expertise enable him to provide innovative solutions that ensure optimum coverage and value. He works closely with his clients to identify their unique risks and exposures and follows through with exceptional service,” EVP and senior managing director Bob Bennetsen said.

These new appointments are just the latest in an ongoing series for the Irvine-based insurance group. In January, Alliant announced the appointment of Michael Lezynski as executive vice president within the Alliant Americas division and the appointment of Todd Schwartz as a senior vice president for Alliant Specialty
