Specialist wholesale insurance and reinsurance broker Amwins Global Risks has a new unit that will be led by industry stalwarts John Andrews and Tom Wallace.
The London-based business, which is the international arm of global specialty insurance brokerage Amwins Group, has launched an underwriting portfolio management unit within the worldwide specialty division of Amwins Global Risks.
“I have known John and Tom for a large part of my career and am confident that with their knowledge and experience we have the leadership in place to create and build out our internal underwriting portfolio management team,” said worldwide specialty chief executive Mark Cody.
“John and Tom will collate business from across the entire group, accessing and obtaining exclusive capacity for our clients and coverholders.”
A Tokio Marine Kiln and WCNC Insurance Services alumnus, Wallace joins from managing general underwriter start-up platform Adeptive LLP. Andrews’ credentials, meanwhile, include time spent at Dale Underwriting, Arch Insurance Europe, Pioneer, and AXIS.
Cody added: “The role of a London broker must be to find solutions and be able to grow at the same rate as our clients. Having a dedicated internal team with an underwriting background demonstrates a commitment to building out this offering.”
