Arrowhead Intermediaries will consolidate a large number of its underwriting and wholesale businesses under three main brands from 2027, replacing a range of legacy names while also changing some of the legal entities behind them.

The phased overhaul will see Arrowhead Programs become Arrowhead Underwriting, while wholesale businesses will increasingly operate under Bridge Specialty Group. Arrowhead Specialty will formally become the third division, covering businesses spanning captives, reinsurance, life and health and other specialist risk services.

For agencies that have historically dealt with individual wholesalers and MGAs, the most immediate change will be recognizing where those businesses now sit. Arrowhead’s brand and legal entity directory shows Advanced E&S moving to Bridge Specialty Group’s property and casualty operations, PMC Insurance becoming Bridge Specialty Group Workers’ Compensation and Professional Risk Solutions joining its Executive & Financial Risk operation.

A string of Hull & Company offices will also take the Bridge Specialty Group name, generally retaining geographic identifiers such as Dallas, Jacksonville, New York City and Fort Lauderdale. Other businesses, including Apex, will retain their existing names but add an endorsement identifying them as part of Bridge Specialty Group.

The changes extend beyond branding in some cases. Advanced E&S, for example, currently operates through Peachtree Special Risk Brokers LLC but is slated to use Bridge Specialty Group LLC as its legal entity. PMC Insurance Agency Inc. and several businesses currently using Hull & Company LLC or One80 Intermediaries Inc. are also scheduled to move to Bridge Specialty Group LLC.

Arrowhead said effective dates will be communicated in advance and that the changes will roll out across websites, marketing material and customer communications as well as legal entity names.

The company is seeking to simplify a specialty distribution operation that expanded significantly after Brown & Brown’s $9.825 billion acquisition of Accession Risk Management Group in 2025. Accession owned One80 Intermediaries, whose businesses were subsequently split across Arrowhead’s underwriting, wholesale and specialty divisions.

The combined Arrowhead platform now has more than 7,800 employees across 170 locations and placed more than $20 billion in premium in 2025. The scale makes the 2027 changes more than a corporate name refresh, with numerous individual access points into the specialty market being reorganized under a smaller number of identities.

However, Arrowhead has stressed that the underlying trading arrangements will remain unchanged. Leadership, teams and day-to-day contacts will remain in place, while underwriting authority, appetite and governance are not changing. Existing carrier, broker and customer relationships, products and servicing processes will also continue.

“This next chapter builds on the progress we’ve made in our first year. Aligning our brands is another step toward a more connected platform, providing a clearer view of our capabilities and solutions and making our global business easier to navigate,” Arrowhead chairman Chris Walker said.

Arrowhead is not alone in reducing the number of brands sitting within a larger specialty distribution group. Specialty Program Group combined several wholesale businesses under SPG Wholesale last year, retiring the independent identities of businesses including Monarch E&S, Beacon Hill Associates and Specialty Wholesale Insurance Solutions.

The consolidation is taking place as specialty distribution continues to expand. US managing general agents handled an estimated $128 billion in premium in 2025, according to Conning, with statutory MGA premium growing 12% from the previous year.
