Breckenridge Insurance Group has appointed industry veteran Dennis DiCapua (pictured) as president of its program division, Blue River Underwriters.

DiCapua will be replacing retiring president Stephen Kelley, who will be stepping down later this year. DiCapua has over four decades of experience in the insurance industry and brings with him a reputation for building increasingly successful programs and specialty businesses.

Most recently, DiCapua founded a managing general agency, Newport General Agency, that was sold to AmWINS in 2010. He then served as the executive vice president and chief risk officer of the AmWINS Specialty Auto company, where he assisted with the consolidation of newly acquired companies, drove carrier and reinsurer relations, and launched new mobile technology solutions.

“The timing for joining Breckenridge couldn’t be better,” said DiCapua. “The organization is well-positioned with a solid book of program business, talented team members, and strong carrier partners. We’ll continue to build on our foundation with enhanced coverages, strategic hires, novel new programs and advanced technologies as we see real opportunities in the marketplace.”

“We’re continuing to bring on exceptional talent as we invest in our growth plans for Breckenridge,” said David Jordan, chief executive officer of Breckenridge Insurance Group. “Dennis is an excellent addition to our leadership team as he is extremely knowledgeable and well-regarded in the industry.”
