Brown & Brown to acquire Social Security disability provider

The company will gain access to the equity of a key player in SSDI advocacy services for the long-term disability carrier market

Brown & Brown, Inc. subsidiary The Advocator Group, LLC has acquired all of the equity interests of Social Security Advocates for the Disabled, LLC (SSAD). The acquisition was announced on Feb. 8 by Brown & Brown, Inc. Chief Acquisitions Officer J. Scott Penny and SSAD founders Ann Marie Beaudoin and Victor Arruda.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SSAD will continue to operate from its main location in Norwell, Massachusetts, with Ann Marie Beaudoin heading sales and Megan Reid maintaining operational leadership. SSAD operations will directly answer to The Advocator Group Chief Executive Officer Julie Turpin.

Founded in 1994, SSAD has worked alongside long-term disability insurance carriers to provide Social Security disability insurance advocacy services to individual clients.
