California broker takes over commercial aviation agency

Alliant Insurance Services has purchased one of the most influential forces in the commercial aviation market

Alliant Insurance Services announced Feb. 3 that it had acquired Seattle-based John F. Throne & Co.—one of the country’s largest independently-owned aviation insurance agencies.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

John F. Throne & Co. provides a suite of insurance and risk management solutions to commercial aviation companies throughout the nation. The agency has been in business for over 65 years.

 “This partnership will solidify our legacy of service to the aviation industry, adding valuable tools and resources to our arsenal,” remarked John F. Throne & Co. president and CEO Michael Throne.

John F. Throne & Co.’s management, client services, and business development teams will remain in their current locations.
