Chubb’s North America financial lines division chairman Robert Cox will retire on July 1 ending his 35-year career with the global insurer. He will be replaced by North America professional lines division president Scott Meyer.

"Bob's career at Chubb represents a remarkable journey that has seen Chubb's prominence in the professional and management liability space steadily rise,” said John Lupica, vice chairman of Chubb group and president, North America major accounts and specialty insurance.

“Over the course of three decades in the business, Bob has built relationships and a level of expertise that has proven invaluable for our clients and his colleagues,” Lupica added.

Cox joined Chubb as an underwriter in 1981 and was named department manager within just three years.

He then held various management posts including assistant vice president/eastern zone manager, vice president/worldwide professional liability underwriting manager, worldwide manager of the department, and chief underwriting officer.

Before Ace’s acquisition of Chubb on January 14, Cox served as Chubb & Son executive vice president and Chubb Specialty Insurance COO.

Apart from his role at Chubb, Cox is also a member of the northeastern board of directors of Operation Hope, a global non-profit group focusing on financial literacy among underserved children and adults.
