What if, instead of just helping businesses and individuals get the insurance they need to protect their assets, you could also help them actually make their homes or places of business safer?

You can, and you actually already be paying dues to do just that. The Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS), a national nonprofit membership organization with its headquarters in South Carolina, is dedicated to conducting research and real world experiments that improve construction practices—especially in areas affected by tropical storms.

They actually construct buildings and then subject them to simulated storms. Not only are you welcome to visit, but you can also send your clients for a tour. Through its FORTIFIED certification program, IBHS will inspect client properties and certify them, which can reduce premiums if the properties are in certain coastal areas, and—if you suggested it—help cement your place as a trusted partner.

Send your clients to visit the IBHS website and help them not only save money but make their property more likely to withstand the ravages of the next storm. Anytime a major storm hits, some buildings fare better than others. Through this program you can help make sure your clients weather the next storm.
