Crum & Forster (C&F) has announced the appointment of Brock Masterson (pictured above) as senior vice president and chief operating officer in its Surety Division.

In the newly created role, Masterson will take responsibility for the growth of the Surety Division’s underwriting book and the expansion of its business.

“Brock has cultivated relationships throughout his career and will be a great complement to Crum & Forster’s expanding surety book,” said Matt Lubin, president of C&F’s Surety Division. “I have worked directly with Brock and am excited for what he is going to bring to the Surety Division here at C&F as we continue to deepen our bench with top industry talent and broaden our geographic reach.”

Masterson’s previous industry experience includes 23 years at Chubb, where he held a variety of underwriting positions. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and director of Chubb’s national engineering and construction group. He holds the Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.

“I’m thrilled to join Crum & Forster’s Surety Division and be part of Matt’s leadership team,” Masterson said. “I look forward to leveraging this team’s expertise – helping propel its strategic growth and expanded footprint in the marketplace.”

Last month, C&F announced the appointment of Joseph Muccia as CFO for its Accident & Health Division. The company also recently promoted David Thomas to senior vice president of surety claims.
