Cyence names industry heavyweights to advisory board

Cyber risk modeling company reveals advisory board appointments

Cyber risk modeling company Cyence recently appointed industry heavy weights to its advisory board. The board is comprised of veterans in cybersecurity and insurance.

"To economically model cyber risk requires bridging the disjointed disciplines of cybersecurity and insurance/risk modeling and I am honored and grateful to our advisory board for their support and guidance," said Arvind Parthasarathi, chief executive officer of Cyence.

Among them is Sean Kanuck, who served as the first US National Intelligence Officer for Cyber Issues from 2011-2016 under the Obama administration. He directed the production of National Intelligence Estimates and served in the Central Intelligence Agency’s Information Operations Center. He is an alumnus of Harvard University and the London School of Economics.

Richard Booth was previously a vice chairman at Guy Carpenter and serves as a senior advisor and board member in several insurance, technology, and financial services companies. Booth also worked at the American Insurance Group and HSB Group. He is a certified public accountant and an insurance industry expert.

Vincent Dowling co-founded Dowling & Partners in 1990 and currently serves as managing partner covering the property and casualty insurance sector. His experience includes posts in Fox-Pitt Keltonand AJB Zunser. He earned his BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Marc Goodman is a globally recognized cybersecurity expert. He is also the founder of the Future Crimes Institute, which inspires and educates on the security and risk implications of newly emerging technologies. In the span of his two-decade career, Goodman has served as cybersecurity and information technology adviser with organizations including INTERPOL and the United Nations.

Tom Hutton is managing partner at XL Innovate, a venture capital fund focused on developing new businesses related to insurance, risk management and financial technology. He has extensive experience is getting startups from the ground. He is an alumnus of Stanford University and Harvard Business School.

Barney Schauble currently sits as managing partner at Nephila, an institutional asset manager focused on natural catastrophe and weather risk re/insurance and securities. Schauble’s two decades of experience spans the insurance and risk management industries including time at Marsh, Guy Carpenter and XL Capital. He has served on the Board of Directors for The Climate Corporation, MetroMile, and Advisen.  He earned a BA from Harvard College.
