Airline passengers now fear pilots crashing as much as terrorists
After the French aircraft tragedy last week that killed 150 people as many American air passengers fear a similar incident as fear a hijacking. That’s according to a poll by Reuters/Ipsos which showed that 37 per cent are concerned about suicidal or disturbed pilots and hijacking. Although 27 per cent say they are now more worried about flying 61 per cent say their opinions are unchanged. Five per cent had canceled or changed travel plans after the crash while 9 per cent said they were considering that. The biggest fear of air passengers is mechanical failure at 53 per cent followed by terrorism or attempts to crash the aircraft at 44 per cent and bad weather or turbulence at 41 per cent. Look after your employees by giving them varied workspaces
During their working life office workers spend an estimated 80,000 hours sitting down, with many implications for their health including back pain and cardio-vascular problems. Now a pair of psychologists have written a book which they say can help employers create healthier workspaces. The Power of Workspace for People and Business by Keti Malkoski and Jacqueline Vischer says that businesses should give workers far more say on creating their most productive workspace. One of the key components is movement; allowing workers to change position and avoid remaining static. A feeling of open space, being able to see outside and a more flexible approach than a standard chair and desk can all benefit employees and the business.

New Cadillac has impressive new security feature
Vehicle security is being taken to a new level by Cadillac’s new CT6 sedan. If the car’s alarm system is triggered cameras all around the car; the same ones used for parking sensors; begin taking images, creating a 360 degree picture of what’s set off the alarm. The images are stored inside the vehicle for later retrieval. The obvious flaw to the plan is that once thieves know where to find the image storage they could get to them first, although those breaking in but not removing the vehicle would not have time to do so. That said, the innovative technology could perhaps one day link to cloud storage creating a truly ingenious development in vehicle security.
