The ex-wife of retired NBA superstar Dennis Rodman is looking at up to seven years in prison for allegedly participating in an insurance fraud scheme relating to an auto accident.

Michelle Rodman-Demarco has been charged with four counts of felony insurance fraud and one misdemeanor count of driving without a license, according to a report by Body Shop Business. Her current husband, Dino Demarco, could get up to 11 years for his involvement. Another defendant, Audra Lee Plageman, was charged with three counts of felony insurance fraud.

According to Body Shop Business, Rodman Demarco and Plageman were involved in an auto accident in 2015 in Costa Mesa, Calif. At the time, neither Plageman nor Rodman-Demarco were insuraced, and Rodman-Demarco didn’t have a valid driver’s license. According to prosecutors, Rodman-Demarco, Plageman and Demarco met five days after the accident and conspired to buy auto policies and file false claims that said the accident had occurred after they had obtained coverage. The claims also allegedly said that Dino Demarco was the driver of one of the vehicles involved.

Dino Demarco allegedly filed false insurance claims with Progressive and AAA of Southern California, Body Shop Business reported. He allegedly told AAA that he’d been involved in a hit and run, and told Progressive that the accident happened after the policy had been purchased.

Progressive and AAA reported the alleged fraud after Dino Demarco and Plageman made contradictory statements about the accident, according to Body Shop Business.
