Ericson’s Spencer Houldin named chairman-elect of Big ‘I’

National agents’ group names a slate of new officers to serve over the coming year

Spencer Houldin, president of Ericson Insurance Services, Litchfield CT and New York City, has been named chairman-elect of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA, also known as Big “I”).
 Randy Lanoix, president of Lanoix Insurance Agency in Lutcher and Brusly, LA, has  veen named chairman.

“Randy is a dedicated professional who tirelessly devotes himself to countless Louisiana families and businesses. He has been there for them when hurricanes and other disasters have devastated the region and is the ultimate advocate for his clients, neighbors and community. We look forward to a wonderful year under his leadership,” said Robert Rusbuldt, Big “I” president & CEO.

On the national level, Lanoix has served on the Professional Liability Committee, the Trusted Choice® board of directors, numerous task forces and two terms on the Government Affairs Committee, where he was chairman of state government affairs.

Lanoix and Houldin are joined by other officers named by the organization to serve as the group’s new administrators. Vaughn Graham of Oklahoma as vice chairman, and Bob Fee of Kansas as an at-large executive committee member.

The official announcement of these new officers was made over the weekend, and they begin their terms this week.
Lanoix previously served as president of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Louisiana in 2001 and as Louisiana’s representative on the national board of directors from January 2005 to September 2010.

Founded in 1896, the Big “I” is the nation’s oldest and largest national association of independent insurance agents and brokers, representing a network of more than a quarter of a million agents, brokers and their employees.
