National insurer Farmers Insurance recently donated $30,000 to support the Armed Services YMCA San Diego. Through the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program, Farmers also donated a refurbished automobile to a military family stationed at nearby Camp Pendleton.

In a special ceremony, Farmers presented the family with keys to a car restored by local technicians. The technicians also tapped local businesses, who contributed gifts, toys and certificates to ‘stuff the trunk’ with additional surprises for the family.

Afterwards, Farmers executives, employees, agents and district managers participated in the Armed Services YMCA’s monthly neighborhood food exchange to help provide food and supplies for local military families.

“As one of the nation’s recognized top military-friendly employers, we are proud to be able to give back to the brave men and women who have given so much to serve our country,” said Jeff Dailey, CEO of Farmers Insurance. “Working with the Armed Services YMCA San Diego, as part of our work with the Farmers Insurance Open’s Champions for Youth Program, allows Farmers to help make an impact on the local community and San Diego’s military families.”
