Paradigm Health Holdings has named former Texas Department of Insurance commissioner Jose Montemayor as its newest executive board member.

Montemayor is a veteran of the industry, with 20 years’ executive planning, mergers and acquisitions consulting experience. He has also spent time performing regulatory consulting in the insurance and reinsurance marketplace. He was principal for Black Diamond Capital Partners in 2005.

He served as Texas’ insurance commissioner from 1999 to 2005, helping oversee the licensing, solvency, and market conduct of the state’s insurers and health maintenance organizations.

Before serving as commissioner, Montemayor was director of licensing and associate commissioner for financial regulation of the Department of Insurance.

He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Society of Financial Examiners, and the Texas Society of Public Accountants.

"Jose brings exceptional leadership and knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry sector. Paradigm Health Holdings will not only benefit from his strategic vision for future mergers and acquisitions, but we will leverage his guidance as a well-respected regulatory consultant," Paradigm Health Holdings president and CEO Dennis LaBrasca said.

Montemayor pledged his dedication to his new role. "I am dedicated to this sector because it provides vital human services. Paradigm Health Holdings will play a key role in supporting and developing insurance and health management solutions to improve Americans' access to high-quality care and enhance their quality of life," he remarked.
