Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire The Evans Agency, LLC in Williamsville, New York.
The Evans Agency is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Evans Bancorp Inc. It provides commercial property/casualty insurance solutions, with a focus on public entities and scholastic expertise. In addition to these core services, it offers personal lines and employee benefits services, catering to clients throughout Western New York.
With Gallagher’s acquisition, The Evans Agency will operate under the direction of Patrick Kennedy, who heads retail property/casualty brokerage operations in the Northeast region.
The Evans Agency is the latest in a series of M&A deals announced by Gallagher in 2023. This acquisition is set to close during the fourth quarter of the year, according to a news release from the broking giant.
“The Evans Agency's expertise and culture are an excellent fit for our Western New York office and will enhance our capabilities in the region,” said chairman, president and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher. “I look forward to welcoming Aaron and his associates to Gallagher.”
Last week, Gallagher announced that it had completed its swoop for Eastern Insurance Group, a subsidiary of Eastern Bank located in Natick, Massachusetts. It has also entered an agreement to acquire the insurance arm of regional bank franchise Cadence Bank, which has 34 offices spanning nine states across the Southeast.
Other recent announcements include the appointments of Thomas J. Gallagher as president and Patrick M. Gallagher as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
In revealing these leadership changes, the broker said J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr. will maintain his focus on the company's strategic direction and the critical aspects of domestic and global expansion.
Meanwhile, Thomas J. Gallagher and Patrick M. Gallagher will play vital roles in spearheading organic and M&A growth initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, as well as ensuring superior service delivery across the organization.
