Gallagher expands auto market capabilities with new acquisition

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has announced its acquisition of United Dealer Services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

United Dealer Services, based in Highland Mills, N.Y., is a retail insurance broker and program administrator providing a full range of coverages to franchised car dealerships in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Michigan, Virginia, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Pennsylvania. The company is also a program administrator for franchised auto dealerships in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

United Dealer Services principals Randolph T. Winston and Dustin Winston will remain with the company and report to Dan Tropp, head of Gallagher’s Mid-Atlantic retail property-casualty broker operations.
