Commercial property and casualty insurance provider Harford Mutual Insurance Group has promoted three assistant vice presidents to VPs.

Jeffery J. Bischoff (pictured left) moved up from the role of assistant vice president of information technology to become VP of IT. Bischoff, who has a solid background of over a quarter-century in the IT domain, came on board Harford Mutual last year. As vice president, he is in charge of the firm’s IT strategy. Previous roles include his stint as technology solution manager for American Family Insurance Group’s policy platform department.

Harford Mutual’s human resources department also saw a significant promotion, with Patrick J. Gagen (pictured center) elevated to HR VP. Having been part of the company since 2015, initially joining as HR director, Gagen’s new role will have him continue his oversight of benefits, compensation, training, professional development, and internal policies and procedures. Gagen brings two decades of HR expertise to the table.

Completing the trio of promotions, Stacey A. Rebbert (pictured right) transitioned from AVP of marketing & corporate communications to vice president, chief marketing officer. Rebbert, with her 35-year tenure in marketing, first joined the ranks of Harford Mutual in 2013. Her role as CMO spans brand management, digital marketing, advertising, employee engagement, public relations, community outreach, and corporate communications efforts.

Meanwhile, aside from the new promotions, Harford Mutual also recently appointed Matthew Stachowiak as director of claims, complex & litigation. He has been with the business since 1997, spearheading the formation of its litigation and complex claims unit in 2020.

Based in Harford County in Maryland, Harford Mutual ended 2023 with more than $400 million in direct written premium sold through independent agents in 12 states and Washington, D.C. Last year, monoline workers’ compensation carrier ClearPath Mutual Insurance Company merged into Harford Mutual.
