Bob Kyte was appointed CEO of health information company Healthwise, effective July 1. Kyte succeeds founder and CEO Donald W. Kemper, who is set to retire from his position by July 1.

Kyte will join Healthwise on June 1 and assume his duties as the new CEO on July 1, coinciding with Kemper’s retirement. The company’s existing senior leadership will remain to maintain continuity.

Previously, Kyte served as general counsel, as well as other key roles within the company, from 1990 to 2009. For six years, he was the president of risk-management insurance broker and administrator Adventist Risk Management. Kyte also served as president of one of Adventist Risk Management’s affiliates, GENCON Insurance Company.

The nonprofit Healthwise was founded by Kemper in 1975 to provide consumer health education and decision support. In 2014, the company merged with the Informed Medical Decisions Foundation, which is now a division of Healthwise. Together, the combined nonprofit has $39 million in annual revenues and 270 employees across the country.
